ABOUT

I’m Wessel, a Dutch Adventure Traveler who has been on the road for about 7 years. During my Final year of Education, I found myself in Uganda – East Africa and here I realized that creating something with the local community – in places where the chances are small to none – was my greatest purpose to pursue and this is what I did.
About: Monkeymoonmoments

During my Life there is one thing that has stood out over all other things. That I have no clue where I am going and no one thing that I wish to be. Everything came as a spark of “Now I want to do this, or be that” and there was no way that I was gonna let doubt win from achieving it.
While I’m reminiscing about the past, the doubt of sticking with something alway looms over my shoulder but it has made my life colorful and gave meaning in meeting so many beautiful strangers and traversed through a wide range of challenges. That thought me everything I am Today. I am the collection of shared experiences.

A little bit about me…hmm I might have been born in the Netherlands, I was raised on the Sea. Living on a 40 meter schooner Sailing Boat called the “Luciana” sure thought me a thing or two about living like a community.
Surrounded by 20+ Germans that – as I later realized – co-raised me – these people booked the Boat for their Holliday and worked themselves rigouresly to set up the sails and get that tub moving.
There is no were els to go, so you have to make it work together. waking up to smell of morning Budweiser and German Bratwurst. Some memories will never fade.

As I got older I got spontaneously into an art form called, Classical Ballet. It was like electricity and my world was about to change. I went to view a class with my gym shorts that had a grass stain from softball on it and my oversized sneakers and sat on a chair to watch the class. The Teacher encouraged me to join and I grabbed the Barr. It was like electricity and from that moment I did not wanted to do anything els. Dance was all I wanted to do.
I wanted to go to the Dance Academy “Codarts – Conservatory of Performing Arts” Now that I am older I realized the school struck a chord with me because there were no chairs and tables in the classrooms when I visited the school on an open day. Coming from a boat life, primary school and high school was a bit strange in that aspect.
About: Monkeymoonmoments

After experiencing a rich and wild adventure in pursuing a professional dance career all over Europe. It became clear that there was more out there in the world than devoting my mind and body to rigorous training. I traveled – often on my bare feet – a great distance with nothing more than a small backpack and my guitar. Hitchhiking, doing odd gigs and jobs for food and lodging,
I wanted to make it happen with as little possession as possible. “Home is where my hearth is ” was my mentality at these roads.

Building a Van with a great Love and – even though our path have gone our separate ways – bringing the arts, crafts, dance and stories to all corners of the world is still a gift worth mentioning. It would not be so without a path of love and loss.
I am very thankful for all the memories. It is time to make new one. Who will join me on my adventure sharing as much as possible?

MEET THE TEAM!

WESSEL
FOUNDER of MonkeyMoonMoments
Meet Wessel, the creative force behind MonkeyMoonMoments. Fueled by a love for storytelling and a knack for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, Wessel crafts art with heart, humor, and a little bit of moonlight magic.Living life on the road—because inspiration doesn’t stay in one place—Wessel creates from a van, turning every sunset, roadside diner, and winding highway into a canvas. Whether it's a sketch at sunrise or a masterpiece under the stars, the journey is just as important as the art.

DUCKY
THE LOYAL VAN
Listen, I may not be the prettiest ride on the road, but I’ve got heart (and a whole lot of duct tape). I’ve seen more sunsets than most, carried more art supplies than I probably should, and yeah, I’ve broken down in some questionable places—but I always get us where we need to go.I’m the trusty sidekick to Wessel, the genius behind MonkeyMoonMoments. While they create, I hum along the highway, dodging potholes and holding strong against the wind like the true road warrior I am. Sure, I rattle a bit, and my doors require just the right touch to open, but hey—perfection is overrated. Adventure, on the other hand? That’s what we’re built for.Through rain, snow, and the occasional overheating incident, I keep rolling. My tires may be bald, my AC might be a distant memory, but I’ve got soul. Every dent has a story, every squeaky hinge sings a song of the open road. And as long as there’s gas in the tank (or at least a buddy willing to push), I’ll keep chasing the horizon—because that’s what dream machines do.

CAMI
THE GUARDIAN
Okay, listen up, humans. I’m Cami, the heart, soul, and chief morale booster of this operation. My human likes to think they’re the creative one, but let’s be real - I’m the true master of mischief. Whether they’re painting, sketching, or muttering to themselves about “composition,” I’m right there, supervising with my soulful eyes and wagging tail. Inspiration doesn’t just happen—it requires a professional-level snuggle expert, and that’s where I come in.
